what news was a participatory performance carried out from July 31, 2011 – August 7, 2011, along the indirect route from Asheville, NC to San Francisco, CA, in conjunction with Information Department. Along the way, people were asked to send an SMS to the Information Department Google Voice account in the following format: “what news [a name] [an address]“. A “Y” would also be appended if the participant consented to their postcard being photographed and posted on my Tumblr.
