Installed at Harold Arts, Chesterhill, OH. At the old residency location there were a few “satellite” cabins. Near one of these cabins, Luft, there was an old foundation with a pile of bricks on it. Until recently, this pile had been an old woman’s cabin, or maybe house. I don’t know if she was inside of it when it burned down or if she passed by other means.
In 2007, I gathered a number of the bricks and put them in the trunk of my car. I drove around with them for nearly a year, then took them out and painted red lines on them. In 2008 I returned to Harold and put them back where I found them. Thanks to Maggie Haas for her photographic help.
